If you have made it this far, to these last words, I want to thank you from the heart for taking the time to read this story.
It's just a humble fanfic, born from my love for this world, for its characters and for the emotions they gave us.
I have tried, with all the respect and affection they deserve, to give Jon, Daenerys, Arya and all the others a different farewell. Different from what we saw, different from what we were given.
A hard, tragic farewell, but also full of sacrifice and love.
I know this ending doesn't pretend to be "the real one," nor better than any other; in fact, maybe for many it's the worst possible ending, a heresy, a disaster... and that's okay. Because it doesn't seek to be perfect: it's just my way of closing their story, of paying them one last tribute.
I hope that, somehow, these pages have made you feel something: sadness, hope, pain, relief, or simply the certainty that even the worst ending cannot extinguish what these characters made us feel.
Because as long as we feel, these stories never truly end.
